A big
congratulations to all
from 'Hey Hey'. The show was destined to succeed because it is the only
variety/music show on television aimed directly at us - the forgotten
generation. And the only ONLY reason it came back was the volume of
support from the general public - NOT because of anyone clever from programming at
Channel 9.
I saw that big hole in programming coupled with the total lack of support
for the legends of our music industry, which I why I started Wrokdown.
Even today on repeats it is the highest peak rating show on Channel 31.
C31 is a great supporter of Wrokdown, but the future is dim as we all know due
to lack of government interest. The 40+ were the biggest buyers of
physical product, and a lot of the older generation don't
have the technology at home to download. Without Wrokdown, most people
wouldn't know that Ringo Starr, Mark Knopfler, James Taylor, Broderick Smith,
and many many more have new product out.
I have been pushing for a commercial radio show using Karl van Est and Wendy Stapleton, and also the ABC for a late night
spot. It's like banging your head against a brick wall, but not unlike
all our legends (Keven Borich, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, Mike Rudd) do every time they record yet another CD that no-one
will play. We all need support too. Anita.
