JACK MCGRATH

or

“JACK THE MUSIC MAN”

Joseph (Jack) McGrath experienced his first taste of “show-biz” at an early age in his home town of Wagga Wagga where, as the city’s leading boy soprano, he competed successfully against girls and boys at eisteddfods, and performed  regularly at weddings, concerts and other functions.

Influenced by the pop explosion of the sixties, he formed a local pop group, eventually moving to Melbourne to have a crack at the ‘big time’.  There he achieved considerable success as lead singer of the New Dream, one of Australia’s top bands of the era.  The New Dream experienced a string of hits including ‘Groupie’ which reached number one.
Though Jack has been involved in music throughout his life, he only recently began realising his talent for composition.  Since 2000 he has written and recorded more than seventy songs.
